MUSIC AND DANCE

Dance springs from man's joy in his body, his love of expressive gesture, his release of tension through rhythmic movement. It heightens the pleasure of being and at the same time mirrors the life of the society.
 
Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement. Like the song, the dance permeates the abstract forms of orchestral music.
 
 
 
 
The dance of the countryside is different from the city dance; both through out the ages, were set off from the court dance. Folk, popular and court dances nourished European and Indian art music. In terms of performance, the major categories are live dance music and recorded dance music.
